Have you ever start Monday feeling like you're already behind, or maybe your to-do list is chasing you instead of the other way around? Well, guess what? You're in luck. I'm gonna be sharing with you how to create a no fail weekly reset routine that is gonna help you even if you're weak, starts off feeling like survival mode. You'll be feeling like you're on top. Hey there, it's Tony Ann from The Real Happy Mom Podcast. The podcast for busy working moms who need more time and help with achieving their big goals without pulling their hair out. I'm gonna be sharing with you my no fail formula, the reset formula to help you reset for the week, even if you're feeling behind. So I know the feeling you are getting ready on Sunday for Monday morning, and you realize that not only have you forgotten to sign the permission slip, you don't have dinner ready, everyone is up late. It is a mess and you're already feeling behind and it's still Sunday night. I want you to know that you're not alone and that there are things that you can do to help to reset, and even if it's just something simple so that you can feel calmer and less reactive during your days and week. And I will tell you, having a weekly reset routine doesn't mean doing more. It's not about putting more things on your plate, but setting up your week so that it runs smoother. And this weekly reset routine is one that's gonna have you to be more intentional instead of constantly playing. Catch up. Think of it like clearing out the digital tabs in your brain so that you can focus more.'cause if you're like me, you got a million tabs running in the background. I want to break down what a weekly reset actually is, why it works, and how you can create a version that won't fall apart after two weeks, because let's just be real. That usually happens, especially when we're starting something new. So whether you've got 15 minutes or a whole hour, I'm gonna give you a simple formula to help you reset your week without burning out. So first up, what is a weekly reset routine? So I would say there are five core things that make up a weekly reset routine. Number one, it's something that is simple and that is gonna help you to start the week fresh. This weekly reset routine is something that should be short and intentional. During a certain block of time that you usually do once a week is where you're gonna pause, reflect, and reset for the key areas of your life. Think of it like a mini home life tuneup. Um, this is gonna help to start your week so that you're feeling prepared and not panicked. Number two, it's a routine that's not about perfection or productivity overload. It's not about a full spring cleaning or two hour planning session. It's not about getting everything done. It's about setting yourself up for less stress. The goal of this routine is to help reduce the mental clutter and create some clarity and calm during your week. Number three, it's gonna be a routine that helps you move from being reactive to being intentional. I know this is. Really becoming, my word for the year is just being more intentional. So without a reset, you'll find that your week often starts playing catch up, and this weekly reset routine is gonna help give you the space to respond to life instead of just reacting to everything that comes flying your way. Having a weekly reset routine is going to allow you to go into Monday knowing what's coming up, what matters the most, and where your energy should go. Number four is that it targets the areas that create the most chaos, and I will be honest with you, there are times when I have found there are seasons that the calendar is like. Confusing for me and my family. Like, wait a minute, when did we schedule a dentist appointment? Or When did you decide that you were going to go outta town? Like I don't remember all of that. So it helps to clear up all of that. Or maybe it's some last minute dinner decisions so you don't have to hear, what are we going to eat for dinner tonight? I know that is like the question that drives me bonkers. It also helps to clear out the clutter that is draining your energy. Um, you know, like the kitchen counter that seems to pile up with all of the things, or maybe it's feeling like you have no time for yourself. So this weekly reset is gonna hit. All of these different things. And then lastly, the weekly reset is going to help you stay consistent without burning out, because the magic in this routine is not intensity. It's just about 20, 30 minutes max to reset. That will help you to dramatically shift your week. And when it's done regularly, it helps to build momentum and make life feel more manageable and just a little bit easier. So let's talk about why moms struggle to keep up with this weekly reset routine. I'll be honest with you, the number one thing that I have seen and I have had others on the podcast talk about is the all or nothing mindset. Many moms feel like they can't fully reset perfectly, and if they can't do it perfectly, it's not worth. Doing it at all. Like I missed one Sunday, so what's the point? And so that leads to skipping it all together, but I just wanna remind you that even a partial reset is better than nothing at all. And it's all about progress, not perfection. The second big struggle that I see is trying to copy what someone else is doing. You know, we see the Pinterest perfect reset with color coded planners, and it takes about three hours, but that is not realistic for most moms. Um, what works for. A mom that is staying at home versus a mom that's working from home is totally different. And when a routine doesn't fit, it becomes a chore instead of support. Number three is not knowing what actually needs resetting. So I have found that a lot of the overwhelm sets in because moms don't have a clear idea of what to focus on. So. You'll find that you may be struggling with needing to meal prep versus cleaning the whole house, versus playing out your outfits and setting goals like which one comes first, but without a structure or a checklist, it's easy to feel stuck before you start. And then one last one. There's many others, but I'm gonna do one last one here is that, um, mom tend to over complicate it. You're trying to do too much. I know you wanna do all of it, but you're doing too much in one sitting, you're trying to mail prep for the week. Deep, clean batch emails, organize the pantry and put away laundry all at the same time. It's just not gonna work. This only leads to burnout, resentment. And eventually you're just giving up. So this is why I have this no fail reset, so this No Fail Formula is the acronym reset, R-E-S-E-T. The R in reset is repeat weekly. You want to choose a time that works for you, whether it be Sunday evening. I know that's a great time, but it is completely optional. Maybe it is Friday afternoon because I know I used to have Fridays off, and Fridays used to be my day to reset. Maybe it's on Monday morning when everything is calm, after the kids have gone to school, whatever day or time it is, just pick a time that you can commit to most weeks because consistency is better than perfection. Then the E and the reset formula is. Enjoying the process. You wanna make it enjoyable. If you can light a candle, put on your favorite playlist or podcast, Hey, they're real happy, mom, I see you. Maybe it is pouring a cup of tea or maybe making a fun mocktail to sip on while you reset. Pairing your reset routine with something fun, will likely turn it into a vibe, not a chore. The S in RESET is make it short and sweet. You want something that is gonna be doable, not something that's gonna take hours. So you want to aim for 30 to 45 minutes max, because if you have a busy week, you want something that you can do quickly. Even if it's a mini reset that takes 15 minutes. Something that. It consists of reviewing your calendar, picking out three meals and tidying up one spot. This makes things doable every week, no matter how crazy life feels. E in reset is equipped yourself, whether it be using a checklist, a Trello board, a timer, whatever it is. I love myself a Trello board, but a simple checklist is something that is gonna help keep you focused and save you brain power. And if you're like me and you love Trello, you can drag and drop some weekly reset templates on your Trello board and even put a checklist inside, or you can use a timer to help you keep moving. Um, I know one guest had talked about beating the clock so you can beat the clock so that you are getting things done, but in a low energy state. And lastly, the T and RESET is team effort. You wanna involve the family if you want, but. I will tell you, you definitely wanna get some help. Um, given the small kids, um, especially the little ones, um, reset jobs like cleaning out their backpacks or restocking snacks, or maybe it is just moving papers to a different location. This all helps to make Sunday night a tradition that everyone pitches in for just a few minutes and helps to get things reset. This helps to take the pressure all off of you and also helps to teach some good habits early on. So remember this reset routine doesn't have to be complicated. Remember, the RESET stands for repeat weekly. Enjoy the process, keep it short and sweet, equip yourself, and then involve the team, which is your family. Including these different things will make it so that you're. Weekly reset routine is gonna help you to have an even better week and make things even easier for you. And remember, progress over perfection. And I encourage you to just start with just one simple thing. It could be focusing on the meals, maybe it is focusing on the calendar. Whatever it is, pick one thing, focus on that. Get that thing all squared away and you can add things on as you move along. So please join me back again next week for another full episode. I hope you've enjoyed this one, and I hope your reset routine is awesome. Take care, and with lots of love.
